Steve Smith 2008 Details

Steve Smith is still the man for the Carolina Panthers.  The emergence of the Panther running game with backs DeAngelo Williams Jonathan Stewart is positively taking some pressure off Smith, who has more or less been carrying Carolina offensively.  He should remain a top NFL Wide Receiver in 2009 and over the next few years, but he is getting older and he does play extremely hard.  In theory his production should be peaking, though one should never underestimate Steve Smith.  In 2008 he had 78 receptions for 1,421 yards, an 18.2 yards per catch average, 6 touchdowns and 59 first downs.
